"Time and Distance Overcome" was definitely intriguing but my personal reaction was completely shocked. I had never expected such a bad outcome for the introduction of telephones. When I saw the first mention of the "war on telephone poles" I did not realize until reading further the impact telephone poles had on society in the south. A lot of people did not enjoy telephone poles being placed all over their land so they used them for unjust purposes. My reaction to the story was completely repulsed. For one, I am so surprised that people would do such a thing to another person. I understand times have changed and there have been worse things like the Holocaust. I still cannot imagine the telephone post I pass on a regular basis could be used for the destruction of another human being. I do not understand the point of racism and why "white people" would commit such horrible acts of cruelty.

Someone could argue that this is not a shocking offense at all due to all the racist things that have happened and even the Civil War. As of today, there have still been major cases of racism which I can still not quite understand because I think all people should be treated fairly and equal.

The hardest piece of writing I ever did was when I wrote an argument on why I think truck drivers are treated unfairly. First of all my father is a truck driver and I have experienced it first hand but my problem was finding the evidence to back my argument up. Every post and opinions of others towards truck drivers was not favorable and it made writing my paper much harder. Although, I got the chance to interview a few truck drivers and all their opinions were similar and helpful, most non-truck drivers disagreed. I was so passionate about this piece because I am close to my father and I also have been able to travel with him and see life how he does. I was a junior in high school in Advanced English and my teacher thankfully was very supportive but my dreams of having it actually go to the government and be a wonderful piece diminished when I also had to follow certain guidelines. I really just wanted to write all my feelings on a paper but that's not really how you write a proper paper.

My personal writing process consisted of all the thoughts and points I had about the topic, then researching for more. I had hopes that I would have a well thought out piece with all my points. Then after I have all my points I move on to coming up with a structure for my thought out points to go in. After I move on from the structure I start to place what I want to say in that structure. I usually start with an introduction that includes an attention getter and a thesis. I then listed my main points and just filled out the rest of my paper. It was basically placing all my research into the already structured piece.

Well my mind moves from one thing to another really fast. I am constantly thinking about the next thing to do or things that need to be done. Honestly, the best thing I can do is to calm down and focus on one thing at a time. If I cannot focus then I can always work with another person in the class.
